If you have made up your mind that you want to step into the forex trading market, then there are a few things you will unquestionably wish to look at first. If you are serious about your decision and you actually desire to learn forex trading, then you need to take a few steps.
During my youth, my father had this saying, “You know, there’s many ways to skin a cat.” What he meant would take me a few years to figure out. But now I get it; especially since I make the better part of my living doing forex online. So just what is that you say? Well, in short, software forex is the system of operating your foreign exchange currency, or forex, account on autopilot.
There are many different ways that you can school yourself about online forex. One of the best ways you can educate yourself on the topic is to have a private instructor of sorts. If you happen to know someone who is practiced in automated forex, then you may want to ask them if he or she would be willing and able to help you learn online forex. If having a tutor is not an option for you, then you will need to either purchase or download a course, or open a practice account and start practicing trading in a simulated forex trading market.
Self-Esteem and Teens
April 27th, 2009
Ideally, we raise our children from the cradle to have a positive sense of self-esteem. A child that has always had a strong sense of who they are and were they want to go with their life isn’t as likely to dabble in drugs, alcohol, and premarital sex. A child who has a safe open dialog with at least one of their parents isn’t as likely to keep secrets and start sneaking around during the teenage years. A child who has been raised to set personal boundaries isn’t as likely to let peer pressure dictate their standards of conduct. Children who have been raised to recognize their own gifts and limitations are able to make their own choices about what is in their long-term best interest. But most teens weren’t raised perfectly and they know it, so along with the lack of self-confidence they are often carrying at least a little bit of animosity towards the authority figures that have failed them.
Teens have a double-edged sword in their hands. On the one side, they have none of the adult wisdom that comes from making their own choices and seeing for themselves what does and does not work for them. On the other side, they have serious hormone levels which by design gives them the feeling of strength and immortality. You see it in boys especially. There’s nothing quite like a heavy dose of testosterone to give a previously insecure boy the belief that he can tackle the opposing football team or even ask the most popular girl out on a date. Hormones foster a temporary manic form of self-esteem in teens that often gets them into more trouble then good.
They think their new can-do attitude is enough to get them through life, but the truth is, those hormone levels eventually mellow out and their original lack of self-esteem will come back. Often you’ll see young adults in their early to mid-twenties undergoing a depression as the reality of their limited belief systems drift back into their awareness. It’s like the tide just came back in. From this place, a lot of folks decide that nothing they do ever really matters and they resign themselves to a dull uneventful life. They put their dreams up on a shelf and most never bother to try again. Remember back in your own life, when did you give up on your dreams?
We need to educate our teens in advance that the superman complex will wear off and that they will go back to being normal people again. That doesn’t make them failures, it just makes them human. It should be taught in the health curriculum along with defining the upcoming body changes, that when all of that stabilizes, they will no longer feel invincible. That would help them to not go through a withdrawal type depression later in life. “When I was young, I always dreamed of being a _____ when I grew up. Now I’m just answering phones on this customer service hotline being yelled at everyday by irate customers. This is definitely not what I had in mind when I pictured ‘happily ever after’.”
Yes, we should teach them self-esteem from the time they are born. Yes, we should teach them how to create a balance between self-obsession and caring about others’ needs. And yes, we should teach them that there is a time and a place for immediate gratification and a time and a place for delayed gratification. But what is often missed is the basic core belief that they are capable of doing anything they set their minds to. Teens should be taught that it takes hard work and determination to make the big important dreams come true. It’s fun to dream of becoming an overnight success as a rock star or as an athlete, but that behind the scenes their heroes did work hard to master their craft and to become noticed by people who had the ability to promote them. Teach them that luck is something that rarely finds you, you often have to go looking for it. We have to teach our teens the nuts and bolts of how to make their dreams come true.
We have to talk to them and find out what their goals are. Then we have to help them plot a course that is exciting and adventurous. Help them understand that they can accomplish a lot towards fulfilling those goals now, but that there will come a day when nature dictates they will slow down and the fire in their belly will become a quiet ember. They need to be forewarned so they will stay focused now and can get a lot of the hard work done before hand. That’s why they need to go to college as soon as possible, or train as apprentices now, or practice their craft until they can perform inside out and upside down in their sleep. They have to work hard while they have the youthful drive to do so. Encourage them to run with their dreams in a positive logical direction that will actually get them where they want to go. Show them how to look backwards over their shoulder once in a while to see just how far they have come and that they may not be at their ultimate finishing point, but they’ve made wonderful progress so far.
Don’t let them tell you that they don’t have any goals and that there is nothing they are good at anyway. Somewhere in their grumpy little hearts is a dream, make them find it. Self-esteem doesn’t come from someone else telling us that we are capable. Self-esteem comes from fighting, scratching and digging our way towards something. It’s that little voice somewhere in the back of our minds whispering, “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can…” and that doesn’t come from Mommy and Daddy. That comes from pushing ourselves beyond our easy comfort zones.

Do you remember how it was when you where a child? What was your main activity? Was it working? Of course not. Your main activity was playing. You had no concerns. You needed toys and your parents where supposed to provide you with them. They had to find toys you wouldn’t throw away and believe me, it wasn’t easy for them.
Now you are a parent and you are in the same situation as your parents years ago. You’re looking for toys that your child will like. That’s why you must know how to choose the right toys. My parents made one common mistake: they would buy me toys that they considered wonderful. But usually, when they would give me the toy, I would either consider it too girlish or too boring. It wasn’t fun for them to see how a toy they bought for me to play with would stay forgotten in my closet.
How to find out what’s the right toy for your child?
Just watch your child closely to determine his preferred activities, skills level, preferred band(s) and movie(s), and so on. Based on these observations you can get a clue on what types of toys your child would prefer. For instance, if your child loves the movie Lord of the Rings, I bet that he’ll also like Lord of the Rings toys…
Now don’t just go into the first toy shop and buy the first Lord of the Rings toy you find. Observations aren’t enough. There are some other very important factors you must consider. Adding them into the equation helps ensure you that your child will have lots of fun with the toy you’ll choose to buy for him.
Here are the factors you must consider when choosing toys for your child:
• Child’s age - This is very important. If you buy toys too advanced for your child’s age, chances are that he might get injured. Toy manufacturers struggle to make their products as safe as possible, but if you don’t follow their recommendations, your child may suffer. On the other hand, if you buy toys made for children with age under that of your child, he will consider them too boring. The best thing is to choose toys designed precisely for your child’s age. Here are two articles that will help you choose toys for babies and toys for toddlers.
• Child’s gender - This is exactly what I said above that my parents bought me toys that I considered to be girlish. I’m a boy, but the same is with girls too. Any detail that may make the toy look as for the other gender than that of your child will make the toy undesired.
• Toys your child’s friends play with - When your child is playing with his friends, watch to find out if he manifests interest in any of his playmate’s toys. If he does, then it’s very likely that he would like to have a toy similar the one his friend has.
• Sometimes, a child tells his parents what toy he likes or wants, thus saving them from a lot of hard work. But don’t count on this. Some children aren’t very keen to talk with parents unless they really want a certain toy.
• Safety - This is the most important factor you must consider whenever you need to decide what toy you should buy for your child. Unfortunately, this is also the most overlooked one. Usually, parents forget to check if the toy they choose for their children are safe.
• Is the toy educational? - It’s a good thing if the toys you choose for your child can help him develop new skills.
And please remember that the age difference between you and your child is of at least 20 years. The fact that you liked a toy when you were a child does not mean that your child will love it too. Children from different generations like different types of toys
Make sure you offer the toy to your child in the appropriate manner!
When you offer the toy to your child, don’t do it in a “Here’s your toy. Now go and play with it” manner. If you do it this way, that toy won’t mean a thing to your child. Rather, try to make a game. Hide the toy somewhere where the child can easily find it, and encourage him to look for it. Laugh with your child, search for it together… And when the he finds the toy, don’t just let him play by himself. Get involved in your child’s play. Make that the fun of a lifetime. A parent is a child’s first and best friend.
Eugen Lisov is the creator of Child-Toys-Guide.com, a site focused on helping parents worldwide to choose the best toys for their children. If you offer your child a bad toy, it’s the same as if you don’t offer your youngster any toy. Please feel free to browse my site; it will only help you when choosing toys for your child.

April 24th, 2009
There are quite a number of items new parents should consider getting. Your newborn’s safety should be your top priority, and baby proof products such as cupboard fasteners, safety gates, electric outlet covers, and others can be purchased to baby proof your house. These specialty products might seem tedious to use use around your home, but not using them can lead to injury or much worse for your little one. Take a little time to guarantee your babies’ safety so you can focus on spending quality time with them.
Cupboard Fasteners Are Necessary For Baby Proofing
The first step is to remove any harmful cleaners or liquids from bottom cupboards and place them in higher cupboards. Then a good set of cupboard fasteners should be purchased to make sure cupboards stay close and don’t close on the baby’s fingers. These baby proof products can be placed to hold cupboard doors shut to prevent a crawling infant from opening the doors. Remember to measure the width of the stairway before you can purchase them as they do come in various sizes. Most are adjustable but better to verify the opening before spending your money.

Kick Start Your Mentor Program and Stop the Bullies!

Kick Start Your Mentor Program to Stop the Bullying
by Paula McCoach, School Counselor
Whining about bullying and how rotten the bullies were and the poor students that they bullied used to be one of my regular activities. “We have to do something to help these kids - both the bullies and their victims,” I would whine. But for years, I just talked to these kids and sent them on their way. After I got sick and tired of being sick and tired of talking about this - I did do something! I started a mentor program for these students!
Behavior referrals, grades, social problems, and poor achievement were our starting criteria for being in the program. Almost every staff member in the building had 2-3 mentees - everyone from the administration, teachers, and counselors to the educational assistants, cafeteria workers and custodians. Over 150 students were in that mentor program which began in 1998.
Each mentor was given a mentor folder with a permission slip, a brochure about the program, a profile sheet, and tips on being a mentor, a pencil and a “Welcome Back to School” card. The profile sheet identified their mentees, homeroom teacher, grade, birthday, and area of concern. Also included in the packet was a birthday card and pencil for the mentor to give their mentees.
Giving gifts was left of to the discretion of the mentor. Some mentees came to expect gifts and the purpose of the mentor relationship was diminished. The kids came to expect them and thought that they were ‘entitled’ to getting things from the mentor. I had students asking me to be in the mentor program because they wanted to get stuff.
We really learned that first year to reinforce that the mentor program was about improving behavior and grades to be more successful in school - and we had to keep telling the kids that too!
As all of you know, people who work in a school are super busy, and we found that having even just 2 mentees was too much. It was difficult to develop the relationship and effect change because the mentors were stretched too thin. So in the years to come, and we are in our 7th year of the mentor program, we have assigned everyone only 1 mentee.
Another area of concern was keeping track of the number of mentors in the program. Over the years we have reduced this number - first we cut back to only the professional staff having mentees. Staff who wanted to be mentors and had the knack for working with these problematic students were asked to be mentors. A few educational assistants were also asked also because of their expertise in this area also.
Dramatic results were reported with a group of middle school girls. One of the girls had to actually break away from the group of girls who were bullying, so she could improve her reputation as a respectful and serious student. This was a difficult process, and she had 2 mentors working with her to help her make this difficult peer group change. The parent/guardian was not supportive. By the end of the school year, she had completely changed groups of friends, made the honor roll, and received a multitude of awards for academic excellence at the quarterly awards assembly.
So, don’t worry that you don’t have all the pieces in place. You will learn and improve your program each year. Just start helping these kids! You will be inspired and the kids will be thrilled and getting their education!

What Is Prom Night?
April 18th, 2009
What is prom night? For your parents, prom night usually included a dinner followed by a dance at school. The entire event lasted no longer than one night.
What is prom night today? Prom night is still the most important dance of high school senior year. And like always, the night still revolves around having a date. Most teens would rather avoid the prom altogether than arrive without a date.
Guys agonize over whether the answer will be “yes” or “no” when they ask a girl to the prom. They don’t realize that girls devote months toward relationships to be asked by the right person.
On prom night, the girls spend hours getting dressed together. The guys hang out a while, and then get dressed at the last minute. Formal dress is still in, with the girls wearing gowns and the boys wearing tuxedos.
Spending the night with a rented limousine is perhaps the most popular tradition, whether individually or as a group. Before-prom dinners are still common. The boy is expected to cover these expenses.
How has prom night changed? In the last decade, some schools are renting ballrooms for the prom, and teenagers are increasingly renting hotel rooms for the weekend. A recent trend has seen groups of formally dressed teens descending on local bowling alleys before prom.
Something that has not changed is that when the boy arrives at the girl’s home, he is likely to be greeted by proud parents wielding a camera. That’s also what prom is.
Ian Partridge lauched a website called http://www.promhair.us which includes more resources and links relating to prom night
Graduation Diplomas For All

Graduation Cap
It is amazing how people can get creative and attempt to recreate any thing they have seen or imagined. This is why those who have never had a chance to own or wear a graduation cap can now consol themselves by simply creating one just for fun. Before you start your project Graduation Cap one needs to take measure of their head and then go a head and collect the essential supplies required for the project. The materials needed to make a simple four side graduation cap such as those used for high school or even undergraduate commencement ceremonies include paper board, glue, scissors, stapler ribbon and a piece of light black fabric. Start by cutting the paper board to a square of twelve or twenty four inches then glue the black fabric on both side. Next cut out two semicircle pieces of fabric that fit ones head measure and then join them on along the circumference with glue leaving the diameter section open where one will attach the piece of ribbon with glue. After that one can complete the project by stapling the cut and glued material on to the fabric covered paper board. Now go ahead and try on the new creation.
