Visiting Croatia
October 31st, 2008
Croatia has quickly become Europe’s hottest destination, and for good reason.
The rocky coastline continues for 1778 kilometres and includes pine-fringed coves,
wide sandy beaches and cozy inlets. As if that weren’t enough, there are a good
1185 islands that range from lush and wooded to stark and hilly. Yachties love
the sailing opportunities, sunbathers have an incredible choice of beaches and
scuba divers have a paradise of sea life to explore.
Beyond the pretty scenery, Croatia also boasts a fascinating history and cultural
life. The walled city of Dubrovnik on its southern tip is a must-stop for Mediterranean
cruises but the long coast is littered with remnants of Croatia’s varied past.
The Romans swept through two thousand years ago, leaving an amphitheatre in Pula
and Diocletian’s Palace in Split. Long ruled by Venice, many ports along the coast
bear the distinctive imprint of its former master. In southern Dalmatia, the towns
of Hvar and Korcula resemble Little Venices without the canals. In Istria, the
striking bell tower in Rovinj is modeled after that on St Mark’s Square in Venice.
In contrast to the Italian-influenced coast, the Croatian interior was part of
the Austro-Hungarian empire and looks it. Zagreb, Croatia’s capital, has the kind
of stately architecture that wouldn’t be out of place in Vienna or Budapest. Plus,it has a small medieval quarter that vaguely resembles Prague. To the north of
Zagreb, in the middle of green, rolling hills, lies Varazdin, Croatia’s most underrated
city. Lying too far from the coast to attract much tourism, Varazdin nevertheless
boasts a stunningly well-preserved baroque center.
So, what to see first? Following is my personal list of highlights for a Croatian visit:
- Dubrovnik
Byron called it the “Pearl of the Adriatic” for the magnificent curtain of walls surrounding a city paved in marble and strewn with Renaissance sculpture.
- Hvar Town
In addition to the splendid harbor promenade and sculptured facades, it’s becoming known for the best nightlife on the Adriatic.
- Korcula Town
It resembles Hvar in some ways, especially the narrow cluster of streets, but iit lies on a narrow peninsula and is quieter.
- Rovinj Istria’s prettiest little town, it retains the flavor of a traditional fishing port despite the heavy influx of tourists in recent years.
- Plitvice Lakes National Park It has to be seen to be believed. The 16 turquose lakes seem to glow and there are waterfalls everywhere. It’s a UNESCO world heritage site.
- Brela Beach The idyllic coves, bordered with pine trees, stretch out like a long necklace of beaches. Forbes magazine recently named it one of the top twenty beaches in the world.
No matter where you go in Croatia, you’ll find people eager to welcome tourists after the grueling war of the early 1990s. English is widely spoken and costs are comparatively reasonable compared to the rest of the European coast. So what are you waiting for?

Improving Your Aim
October 30th, 2008
If your aim is not good, or is not quite what you want it to be, there are several ways you can work to improve it. Most people can hit the target almost every time when they are not rushed in any way. If you have the time to slowly take aim and think about your shot, you may consider yourself an accurate shot. However, this is paintball. You will rarely have the opportunity to slowly take aim and think about anything. You must learn to be both fast and accurate.
A common problem among paintball players is the inability to quickly raise their guns, take aim, fire, and actually hit the target. It takes practice to be able to do this in a matter of a second. Try practicing with your gun. Do not actually fire it, just simply bring it up from the down position quickly and take aim. The trick here is to be able to instantly focus on the target. Keep doing this exercise until you can bring the gun up and be instantly focused on your target. Use different targets for this practice. Once you feel like you have the hang of it, add paint. Bring the gun up quickly; focus instantly on the target, and fire. Practice this until you are hitting your target almost every time. Again, use different targets.
You need to practice with moving targets as well. Team up with a friend and take turns being a moving target. Another point that you must take into consideration is distance. If you can hit your target when the target is close, but you cannot hit the target when it is farther away, you need more practice.
You must also be able to hit targets while you are in motion. Moving targets, as well as targets that are not moving. Practice with your friend. Consider making an obstacle course as well. In your course, include jumps, crouches, quick turns, and any other situation you may find yourself in during an actual game. Go through the course until you can hit the targets the majority of the time, and then change the course around.
Make sure that you keep practicing between games.

Should You Buy a Used Inflatable Boat?
October 29th, 2008
There are two types of used inflatable boats for sale - those that have never been patched before, and those that have been repaired. Repaired boats are worked upon by factory technicians using the same glue and same techniques used for a new boat, and hence are as good as new ones. All the boats are tested for 24 hours before being advertised for sale.
Used inflatable boats are mostly sold at a discount. Used inflatable boats that have never been patched before sell between $219 and $1,049. Repaired boats sell between $764 and $2,024. The discount on these prices may be up to 20%. These boats vary from 8-foot to 14-foot long. Some boats are with motors, while others come without motors.
There is a wide selection of used inflatable boats in various classified advertisement websites on the Internet. It is fairly easy to place a boat for sale on these websites if the user has a photograph and details of the Used Inflatable Boat.
When selling used inflatable boats, the seller usually advertises the make and model. For example, a seller gives make and model data such as Sea Eagle 8H, Hurricane 24 ft. Aluminum RIB, Avon CRRC 450 etc.
The seller of used inflatable boats also gives the year, the hours that the boat has been used, the price and the location. For example, the Sea Eagle 8H mentioned above is a 2003 model, costs $450 and is in Florida. The Hurricane 24 ft. Aluminum RIB is a 1997 model that has been used for only 30 hours, costs $68,000, and is in Washington. The Avon CRRC 450 is a 1989 model, costs $1650, and is in Florida.
Often, the professional repair technician at the repair facility not only repairs boats, but also sells used inflatable boats. They purchase used inflatable boats that are in a repairable condition, and sell them after reconditioning. It is important to be healthily skeptical and use good, personal judgment while purchasing a Used Inflatable Boat either from a website or from a repair facility.
Inflatable Boats Info provides detailed information on pontoon, rigid and fishing inflatable boats, as well as trailers, repairs, used inflatable boats and manufacturers. Inflatable Boats Info is the sister site of River Rafting Web.
Do you have the plan to buy a new whirlpool and expect 12500 dollar
October 28th, 2008
A lot of the moneylenders wil show you a rate of interest that looks bonny but feels disadvantageously or so after some time. It makes no difference if you live in Chino Hills California or in Bowling Green Kentucky a upright online analysis will alleviate you often a lot of discommode.
Examine to see if the moneylender who is tending to give you a bank loan is secure. A merchant bank in North Tonawanda New York or so may have a total different actual interest rate for a 12500 dollar money loan then a bank in Cerritos California and that makes a vast clear gap in your monthly pay backs. 9.4 percent rate may seem so fairish but will that be the same after you have to pay off your credit loan. That’s why now you really need to investigate and encounter if you can have a money loan at a secure percent loan rate. You should be shiny today to analyze if you have a special offer or if you don’t with the moneylender that offers you a loan. Now you can check out rates quickly at websites and understand if there are possible sneaky traps you should be aware of.

Camping - Get Those Tents Up!
October 25th, 2008
Have you ever thought you might like to try a totally different vacation? Is the cost of your vacation this year a problem? Did you know that a week long Camping Vacation for a family of four can work out to under a $1000.
That sounds pretty good eh! Can you smell that fresh air go on fill your lungs with it and oh! what’s that lovely smell, somebody’s cooking up a treat… it always smells better outdoors don’t you think?
Then you have the glorious sunset and after that why not get together with your neighboring campers for a story telling session and singsong round the campfire. If you thought a Camping Vacation would be ‘roughing it’ and ‘hard work’ then think again, yes it will take some planning but that’s half the fun and it won’t be that much work.
First things first though - location. There are excellent locations in the State Parks for camping e.g. Ocean View Resort Ocean View NJ and many more, check them out on the Internet. Most of the parks have lakes for fishing boating and swimming and also hiking trails. If the kids are really lucky they might come across a deer or a raccoon.
Some have playgrounds and basketball courts so tell the kids to bring their toys etc. Also to be found in these parks are bathrooms and showers, drinking water, ice, trash containers and somewhere to do the dishes. The kids without realizing it can learn a bit of history as there are annual celebrations, events and festivals covering our outdoor heritage. Park Rangers provide security and some parks have outside movies at weekends.
So now you have found your destination the next step is your Camping Gear.
Now don’t worry this does not have to be a daunting task, it can be made easy using the Internet. Obviously you will need a tent. You are probably best to pick a tent a bit larger than you need then you will have some available space. Make sure your tent is appropriate for the terrain and weather and use tent stakes that will secure your tent from blowing away in the wind. A Rain Fly is recommended, not only for rain protection, but also as a sun shield.
A tarp is a further means of protecting your gear, by using it under, in, or over your tent.
You probably won’t be camping in cold weather, so consider a 3-season sleeping bag. These are ideal should the weather be colder at night and if they get too warm just unzip the zipper. Mom and Dad might like the sleeping bags that zip together, also consider a Sleeping Pad - as insulation from the cold ground. Pillows - the inflatable pillows are convenient, or your own from home but a rolled up towel or shirt will work too, a cot in case somebody needs to sleep off the ground. On mild summer nights you may prefer to sleep on top of your sleeping bag with a cozy comforter.
Now back to those lovely cooking smells. What to cook? Basically anything you eat at home. You can get 100’s of Camping recipes off the Internet or why not make up your own. The kids will need proper sticks for hot dogs and marshmallows. A Dutch Oven is useful for baking anything that you would bake at home in a conventional oven. Bottled water is probably best for cooking and drinking, and don’t forget the Cooler.
You will also need your basic pots and pans, and also include for each camper a plate, bowl, cup, knife, fork, and spoon and don’t forget the can opener. A lot of these items you will already have at home.
It is always best to be prepared so include a first aid kit with the following items - personal medication, bandages, aspirin, Tylenol, medical tape, sterile gauze, elastic wrap, antibiotic wipes, antiseptic cream, burn ointment, sunburn lotion, hydrogen peroxide, scissors, tweezers, eye wash and snake bite kit.
Don’t forget your toothbrush, toilet paper etc., but avoid using hair sprays, perfumes etc., as the odor will attract bugs.
So tuck yourself into that sleeping bag, pleasant dreams under the stars and Happy Camping!

Catch Another Falling Star
October 24th, 2008
Recently we stayed at a state campground in Michigan near a couple of lakes and the Kalamazoo River.
The sites were large and wooded and secluded and it was soooooo relaxing to be there. Lots of interesting people walking and biking and roller blading.
The weather was perfect - 70 degrees, perfectly clear, no humidity, with a slight breeze. (Did I say perfect?)
Of course, almost anything you cook or eat in the woods is delicious - and it was!
I worked on my new windchimes made from old silverware while I was there - and I hung them out in the “yard” so we could listen to the beautiful chime sounds - and I had people come over to admire them. That felt good and was a good affirmation for me to continue.
I have been asking for and receiving divine direction, right? Well, late last night I stepped outside the “Gratitude Chamber” (our RV) to take the chihuahuas to potty… and I looked up into the sky.
Oh my goodness! I was not prepared for what I saw!
Everyone around us had gone to bed, so there were NO lights. From the middle of this VERY DARK state park, the sky was MAGNIFICENT. I felt like I was in a planetarium!
Even though I live in a rural area and I can regularly see the sky, there are lights around my house which MUST have been blocking some of the stars.
Anyway, I was so overwhelmed with joy and the magnificence of the Universe that I just stood there with tears streaming down my cheeks. I thought of my son and how he had sent a falling star to me from Heaven on another occasion…
and guess what!?
I saw another falling star. Of course, more tears. Even after I went back inside, I felt completely overwhelmed with feelings of pure gratitude and abundance.
In that moment, I couldn’t possibly ask for another thing. I am truly grateful.

Swimsuits - The best friends in summer.
Swimsuits are the best friends in summer. Nothing like diving in a swimming pool in a hot summer afternoon. If you love being in the outdoors in the sun in your swimming pool then buying the most comfortable swimming suits is a must.
You will get the swimming suits in various sizes and there is no size you cannot find a swimming suit in. Plus size swimsuits are being made by almost all major swimsuits companies and this helps a lot of people who wear plus size dresses. Buying swimsuits has never been easy. Online shopping is a great relief now a days as it ensures that you buy from the best companies without having to go out of that comfortable computer chair.
First make sure you do a thorough online search for the swimsuits you are looking for. Be as specific as possible in your searches. It ensures that you do not waste time reading unwanted sites.
You can buy swimsuits for as low as 40$ and sometimes even lower.
The difficulty arises if you are looking for plus size swimsuits. The better looking swimsuits are more often than not, not seen in the plus size category. You can look for swimsuits that have a longer top length to help cover your tummy with the bottoms being a normal swimsuit bottom. A built in tummy tuck provided by some plus size swimsuits provides you an extra support. Search specifically if that’s what you are looking for.
There are many options out there for you in color style and price in cheap plus size swimsuits. Also look for special summer discounts as many companies try to attract customers with discounts just to get an edge over their competitors.
Plus size swimsuits, for when you want to look good and be comfortable while at the pool or on the beach. Even if you follow all of the care instructions, swimwear has a limited life span. If you wear it in chlorinated pools or in hot tubs the life span is much shorter.
Endurance swimsuits are best if you are swimming regularly in chlorinated pools or spending time in a hot tub. This is because endurance swimsuits are more chlorine resistant.
Activewear swimsuits are best if you will be running and playing in or out of the water.
Sunning swimsuits are great if you will be primarily lying in the sun, working on your tan, you can choose a suit with skinnier straps, or no straps.
Also make sure that the company you are buying from is reputed and/or specializes only in swimsuits.

Should Doctors Prescribe Narcotics for Pain Relief?
October 23rd, 2008
Some drugs that happen to be narcotics are particularly effective pain relievers, but should doctors prescribe medications that are so potentially addictive? This is just one type of concern of some addicts’ family members and friends who search for Adult Addiction and Substance Abuse Information. On one hand, I can understand why doctors might prescribe a drug for pain relief even though it may be potentially addictive. A narcotic might happen to be the only medication that relieves a patient’s pain. Medically, pain is a very difficult issue to address because everyone responds to it differently. However, I believe doctors should only prescribe narcotics for pain if the patient will be making frequent follow-up visits so the doctor can properly track the response to the drug.
Some people seem to have more naturally addictive personalities than others. Apparently, being prone to addiction is a genetic trait, just as some people have attached ear lobes and some don’t. Of course, there’s one obvious, serious difference - a genetic trait like attached ear lobes certainly doesn’t have the potential to threaten one’s life as addiction does. People looking for Adult Addiction and Substance Abuse Information may wonder if, addiction being at least in part genetic, it can ever be completely cured. I, myself, see on TV patients in rehab for drug and alcohol abuse being liberally allowed to smoke cigarettes and eat candy, and wonder if one addiction isn’t simply being traded for another that is a little less harmful. I believe finding a cure for addiction is a difficult process, but one that can be accomplished.
