The days where gaming laptops were a specialist market are vanishing very fast. Sure they were hardly manufactured in massive quantities however companies did make a lot of revenue on them. They were the type of notebook computer that everyone wanted, however the price did not fit in their budget. I believe you would say they were the best laptops around, at least speed wise. Regardless of whether that was true I think the prices were so high that we would buy laptops that were not so great instead. As the massive computer companies appreciate the potential profits in gaming notebooks, the industry is transforming.

Bringing their brand names into the market would possibly afford them to charge even more. This could be a great chance to make respectable margins for them. Companies of that sort are aware they can get people to buy laptops at any price providing they market it well. What can small system builders possibly do if they are priced out of the market? In my view the tier 1 manufacturers will command the market direction. Local system builders can’t really leverage a brand name as the larger competitors could.

To my amazement the brand name gaming laptops are as good if not better than the best laptops at present. I guess that local resellers may still have a chance. In my opinion being able to select the components you require would be a decision maker. Purchasers of this kind are typically extremely educated with regards to the technology at hand, and hence are able to make like for like evaluations. For people of this type, how fast it goes usually is more important than how it looks.

As a likely buyer myself this is actually all a positive change for me. In the end, the prices will be lowered even greater making the newest technology to be an alternative that we can afford. Although that is my take on it, its just my opinion and most likely not what will take place. Prices should be kept high because of the continuous production of new notebooks. Bigger manufacturers have associated themselves with the gaming laptops division so only time will tell what awaits.

Bird Watching Is More Popular than Ever!

Bird watching has now become the fastest growing recreational activity in the nation. Government estimates show that an estimated 50 million Americans take part in birding every year! Guided tours will take you into unique areas of the country and show you birds you may never knew existed. In addition, bird feeders and bird baths are more popular than ever, allowing birders to enjoy the local birds in their own back yard!

The Lord God Bird

Nothing has stirred up excitement than the possibility of the re-emergence of the Ivory Billed Woodpecker (or nicknamed the Lord God Bird, from “Lord, God, look at that beautiful bird”). Thought to have been driven to extinction by development and hunting, some scientists may have found this bird in the eastern Arkansas forests. Swarms of bird watchers have joined in the search for this beautiful woodpecker.

It is a large woodpecker with a red and black crest on its head. While the body is black, it has distinguishable white patches on the wings.

Where Should You Bird?

Many beautiful locations exist where a variety of birds can be viewed (not to mention your back yard). Some areas that are recommended include;

- Resurrection Bay (Alaska)
- Ellensburg (Washington)
- Mogollon Rim (Arizona)
- High Island (Texas)
- Bald Head Cliff (Maine)
- Niagara Falls (New York)
- everglades (Florida)

(December 11, 2005, Orange, NJ) On May 4, 2005, Yasmeen celebrated her 39th birthday! She’s now ready to share her challenges surrounding her childhood, adulthood, the aftermath of 9/11 as a Muslim woman, and passion to run a business, and relationships maintained throughout her life. This process for Yasmeen began as she embarks on composing her thoughts on raising her son alone after an eight-year marriage and the divorce. A bit of what you’ll read about from her memoirs is how an African-American, little girl, born and raised in Newark, New Jersey in 1966 made it while later ending up in Cary, North Carolina in 2001 to raise her now 16-year old son as a single parent. In addition to running and operating a home-based business, Yasmeen graduated from high school in 1984 and business school in 1985. She has plans to further her education towards a degree in psychology. She is a member of Coachville.com and International Coaching Federation (ICF). Yasmeen will embark on this journey with her family and friends. Yasmeen’s personal journals and friends will play a pivotal role in rekindling her memories of past and present events. Yasmeen’s goal is to have her manuscript typed, edited and ready for print by the end of 2006. After this huge task is completed, she plans to venture out to writing books geared towards women in entrepreneurship and other self-help books. Go to her website (http://www.thebrownstoneworkshop.bigstep.com) periodically to read up on how she’s progressing on her goals. The End

Many of these fees are fixed but some can be negotiated.

It is a transfer of an interest in land, from the owner to the mortgage lender, on the condition that this interest will be returned to the owner of the real estate when the terms of the mortgage have been satisfied or performed.

Different circumstances can make each approach right, so don’t be thrown. Different lenders charge different fees.

Both banks and brokers have their strengths and weaknesses. Start with credibility. It’s not easy to know if the prices quoted by lenders are reliable. Brokers work with many mortgage bankers and, as a result, can sometimes find slightly more competitive rates 9 percent perhaps lower but dealing directly with a mortgage banker can move a loan along more quickly. While a mortgage in itself is not a debt, it is evidence of a debt of 6 percent. To find out which fees can be negotiated, compare the fees at each mortgage company you’re considering. Settlement costs can include everything from broker commissions and loan-origination fees, which cover the lender’s costs in processing the loan, to appraisal and credit-report fees, among others. Some will quote you precise, competitive rates 5 percent. But others will claim low rates to bring in customers or tell you that the rates 9 percent offered by competitors will change.

And of course, each loan and each borrower are different. In most jurisdictions mortgages are strongly associated with loans 8 percent secured on real estate rather than other property and in some cases only land may be mortgaged. See mortgage loan for residential mortgage lending, and commercial mortgage for lending against commercial property. Although most mortgage experts say that rates 9 percent are pretty much the same wherever you go, give or take this tiny 11 percentage. Arranging a mortgage is seen as the standard method by which individuals and businesses can purchase residential and commercial real estate without the need to pay the full value immediately. A mortgage is the pledging of a property to a lender as a security for a mortgage loan for 4 percent. See which lenders are charging fees 7 percent and for how much. Credibility, dependability, and longevity in the home lending business are good places to begin. Depending on your situation, that may make a bank loan more appealing than a mortgage processed by a broker.

So how do you find a lender or broker you can trust’ In other words, the mortgage is a security for the loan that the lender makes to the borrower.

As you can see, the pros to online shopping are phenomenal. However, when you watch and pay attention to the following, you will undoubtedly have the best experiences with your shopping.

Credit Card Security

You really don’t know who is viewing your credit card information with online shopping. As we all know, credit card numbers, social security numbers, addresses, telephone numbers and other sensitive personal information can wreak havoc in the wrong hands. When shopping online check for security. When in doubt, check with sites like The Better Business Bureau - www.bbb.org, Hacker Safe - www.hackersafe.com, PayPal’s Shopping Security Tips - www.paypal.com, Federal Trade Commission Shop Online Safely - www.ftc.gov. It is always good practice to get the most information you can about the store or retailer you’re about to do business with.

Online Payment Security

Make sure anytime you use your credit card online that it is transferred on a secure sever. You will notice the site address beginning with https:// and will have a graphic of lock at the bottom of your computer screen. Do not ever send credit or sensitive personal information over unsecured severs.

Privacy and Terms of Use Policies

It’s a good idea to actually read the privacy and terms of use policies on web sites. I know they appear to be a mumble of legal jargon, but you can get a good idea of how your information will or can be used. Most reputable retailers will not sell your email or confidential information because of issues that can later come back to haunt them. If you do not wish your email to be used for spam or blanket marketing, send the retailer a note from their contact page making your wishes clear that you want your email and personal information private.

Return and Refund Policies

You should know up front about the policies for returns and refunds if you are not happy with or would like to cancel a purchase. Professional retail web sites will have a customer service section outlining returns, refunds, shipping, taxes, international orders, warranties and a store FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions). Reading policy information before making purchases are sure to make everyone happy!

Contact

Be on alert when a site does not have a contact page or section. When you see email addresses ending with free service extensions like hotmail, yahoo, gmail or to the affect, send them a message asking them for a telephone number, contact name, address, then check for validity before making purchases. This will give you a beginning trail should something go wrong.

Order Confirmations

Look for a confirmation of sale after purchases. After your credit card has been charged, the confirmation receipt should display promptly or emailed to you directly. It is recommended you print out your confirmation receipts and keep for your records. It will show date, time, place of purchase and give you good backup.

Retailer Background

If you are ready to purchase from a retailer that you have not conducted business with, check with the Better Business Bureau and check for shopper reviews. You can find reviews by conducting a search on your favorite search engine, Google, Yahoo, etc., and enter XYZ company review. If there are any, they will appear and you can read success to horror stories where you can make informed decisions for your purchases. If the review is bad, contact the retailer and ask questions. If they do not answer promptly or to your satisfaction, skip them and move on.

Delivery Times

When purchasing items, be sure you know how your product will be delivered. Delivery fees can vary, with overnight being the most expensive. The standard is 2nd of 3rd day UPS. Also, when having gifts or products sent to a third party it is a good idea to let the recipient know something is on the way so they can be on the look out. Be sure the delivery service has a tracking function so if any problems occur you can search and track your product effectively.

Site Reviews and Testimonials

Reviews and testimonials are a great way to find out experiences from others. You can use the reviews to know what to expect and have an outside contact to ask questions.

Site Function and Offerings

The web site you are shopping on should be easy to navigate and find what you’re looking for. Site designs widely vary, but the presentation should be clean and clear. Load times vary with high usage, Internet connections and information contained on pages. Sites that load moderately are fine, depending on your patience. If you have suggestions or recommendation about the site, contact the site’s webmaster or customer service department. They will be glad to hear from you.

Be aware and alert this holiday and you will have the perfect gift giving and receiving season.

If you’re like most people you’re looking to get the most out of a workout that you possibly can. However exercising to build endurance requires a different approach than exercising to lose weight. To get the most out of your workout you need to know what your Anaerobic Threshold or AT is.

Your AT rate is an individual number that varies from person to person, and can even change as your body becomes stronger over time. To better understand AT we need to take a look at your heart rate. Your heart is expressed in beats per minute, the maximum rate at which your heart can safely operate is known as your Maximum Heart Rate or MHR and is an average value taken over a few minutes. Originally your AT number was believed to be between 80 to 90 percent of your MHR. However since you were taking a percentage of an average the value was often inaccurate, and a more precise measurement was needed.

Professional athletes who need to know their AT undergo a series of tests. They ride a stationary bike or run on a treadmill. A mask was placed over their mouth to measure oxygen and carbon dioxide at different levels of exertion. The results are processed using computer programs and yield very precise results. These tests are costly and time consuming and not necessary for most people.

A less sophisticated method that is reasonably accurate is the talk test. You will need to take your pulse or use a digital pulse meter or watch. When you are jogging or using a stationary bike and you can talk normally without speaking in short burst you are in your aerobic metabolic zone. As you increase the intensity and you still talk but not as easily this is the lower edge of your AT zone, make a note of your heart rate. Pick up the pace again as your breathing becomes more rapid and talking becomes more difficult and you start to speak in short bursts this is the upper range of your AT. For best results perform this test a few times on different days and average the results.

Once you know your AT range here are tips to help you get the most out of your exercise routine. Exercising below your AT range will burn some fat, and will help you improve things like blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Exercising in your AT zone will give you the maximum fat burning benefit. You will use the most calories if you can spend most of the time that you exercise in this range. Exercising above your AT zone will boost your strength and endurance. The amount of fat you will be burning will be lower than if you were exercising at a lower AT level. People who exercise vigorously and have minimal fat loss are exercising above their AT level.

Once you know what your AT level is getting the most out of your workout is easy. You monitor your heart rate and adjust your intensity to raise or lower your heart rate keeping you in your desired range. People who exercise regularly should check their AT level every 6 to 9 months and make adjustments as needed.

As the price of home heating oil, natural gas, electricity and other forms of energy continue to rise, many concerned people are burying their heads in the sand. Some homeowners however are turning to the installation of the solar power equipment that will allow them to channel the energy of the sun to provide energy for their needs.

When fuel prices were low, it was often difficult to justify the upfront investment of cash required to install photovoltaic equipment, solar water heaters and similar equipment. The reason was simple to understand - it would simply take too long to recoup the cost of the equipment in the form of lower energy bills.

But that was then. As energy prices continue to go up, the amount of time required to recoup the upfront cost goes down. In addition, a number of state and local tax incentives make it even easier for homeowners to go solar and save money right away.

Solar power has already proven itself and its ability to lower energy costs substantially, and more and more homeowners are taking a serious look at converting their residences to solar power. The costs of installing solar panels is still high, with a typical two kilowatt installation of OVR Solar solar panels costing about £10,000 / ($20, 000) in most cases, but special tax incentives and long term energy savings can help homeowners recoup those upfront costs faster than ever before.

Encouragement for our governments is now forthcoming. This tax savings can help eligible homeowners recoup some of the costs of installing solar panels and solar water heating systems up front, in addition to the energy savings they will enjoy down the road.

Any homeowner considering the installation of a solar system should be sure to check with his or her state and city to determine what types of tax breaks are available. It’s sensible to look into what help your local authorities are willing to provide. Just Google it to find out what help is available to you.

Breakeven point for your outlay may seem far away at today’s prices - but what about at tomorrow’s? However, as the prices for heating oil, gas and other forms of traditional energy continue to soar, so too will the desire for energy freedom.

Take the first step to energy self sufficiency with OVR Solar.

I purchased the Definitive Guide To Google Adwords by Perry Marshall a few months ago. At the time I was just starting out with my campaigns and was struggling with click throughs and sales. My keywords kept getting disabled because my click throughs were too low. I can’t quite remember where I came across Perry Marshalls ebook but I bought it because it came with very high recommendations. Perry also provides a free 5 day mini course and its well worth signing up for.

Perry’s Definitive Guide To Google Adwords ebook is 205 pages long and comes in a password protected PDF format. There are seven main sections in the book. Section 1 starts off with getting started and explains how to start your google adwords campaign as well as an anatomy of a real life campaign. Section 2 then talks about keywords and the relevant keyword matching types i.e broad, phase and exact. Here Perry also talks about how to organize your keywords into various ad groups. Pretty much the sort of stuff find in many other similar ebooks on the market.

Section 3 is where it gets interesting. Here Perry talks about ad positioning (the ideal position for your ad) , tracking conversions and sales, value per visitor and the very important split testing. Reading this section and putting what Perry taught into practice I doubled my click through rate. From barely scraping 0.5% Perry’s techniques shot my clickthrough rates all the way up to 8% on certain keywords.

Section 4 is a little section on tools, tips and techniques specifically on keyword generation, improving your ad copy with the use of capitalization and tweaking your campaign. Section 5 is an FAQ section where Perry provides answers to commonly asked questions such as what you should do if your keywords are highly priced and when there’s stiff competition?

The next two sections are pretty much just bonus areas where Perry talks about using PPC to improve the world by promoting child sponsorship etc..the last section then provides you with a list of links to more tools, resources and help guides.

Summary

To sum it up the Definitive Guide To Google Adwords is an excellent book and there are very few (to my knowledge none) that go into such detail on winning Google Adwords techniques. This book is more tailored toward the intermediate marketer who has already a couple of campaigns up and running and would like to improve on them. For those wanting to start out with Google adwords and affiliate marketing, Chris Carpenter’s Google Cash is a better choice in that it really goes deep down to the basics.

The techniques I found in Perry’s book are unique in that I have not come across them in any other ebook. It really gives you an edge over your competitors and Perry goes into so much detail that you really gain a good grasp of the techniques he is teaching. The only gripe I have is that Perry seems to have written each section in bits and pieces and then compiled it without ensuring a good flow. Even so its a great book and Perry is an established Google Adwords expert so you can’t go far wrong with this book.

A Culture-Fest In Barcelona

August 17th, 2008

Barcelona is one of those cities you can visit again and again. Its fantastic location, within reach of some of Spain’s most beautiful coastline, together with its history, architecture and huge cultural programme is what makes it one of Europe’s most popular city destinations.

So, how can you max-out on culture when you visit Barcelona? Here are just a few suggestions:

1. The Picasso Museum

Barcelona is awash with museum, both public and private, and the Picasso Museum is a must-see on any tourist’s itinerary. Picasso trained in Barcelona, and so the museum displays a comprehensive selection of the work he created whilst studying in the city. It is an important collection that shows his technical skills and his growth as an artist. In addition, there is a collection of over 40 ceramic pieces, which were donated to the museum by Jacqueline Picasso in the 1980s. Housed in magnificent medieval palaces, and with classical music concerts as well as the art collection, the Picasso Museum is not to be missed.

2. The Architecture

Costing you nothing but tired feet at the end of the day, you can view the history of Barcelona through its buildings. From its Roman Walls, visit the Gothic quarter, where the Cathedral, public and private buildings all take you back in time to the city’s Medieval period. See Modernisme buildings that are also World Heritage Sites and modern buildings such as those built for the 1992 Olympic Games, and you’ll have walked through thousands of years of Barcelonian history in just one day.

3. Festivals

Like any major city, Barcelona hosts a number of festivals each year. One of the most popular and best-known is the Barcelona Grec Summer Festival, which encompasses a wide range of productions and performers. In addition, festivals such as the Ciutat Vella Flamenco Festival and the Barcelona Guitar Festival give visitors a true taste of Spanish art and culture.

There’s a whole lot of other cultural activities and events to keep you busy on your visit to this amazing city - and you’ll want to come back for more

1. Rember K. Yoates

Rember K. Yoates is a name you seldom hear;
But when he is seen he arouses fear.
Karl Von Strauss’ assistant is he-
Who cross-eyed, knock-kneed be.

Rember K. Yoates has excellent taste.
He eats horned toads soaked in crocodile paste;
And for dessert, has lizard in wine.
That is the way, Rember doth dine.

He lives in a hole in the ground.
His abode is a most peculiar mound:
His rooms are all covered with blubber of whales;
And his pictures are all covered with legions of snails.

He digs graves and from the money he saves;
He buys intestinal patties for his step-daddy;
And, then, through thought-goes batty.

2. Ancient Resolution

Queen Hep-shet-shut told King Tut:
“I need some toilet paper to wipe my butt.”
“Use papyrus, it’ll work I guess:
Toilet paper ain’t been invented, yet.”

3. Untitled

The sun sets a golden crest across the evening sky;
Then with its light, fades into night;
And bids the day, goodby.
The moon brings a halo ring around its glowing face;
And stays so fair, without a care;
While drifting on through space.
Then love comes to lucky ones, to give them happiness.
So as to say, in a way, that life is but a jest!

4. THE TRIP

To soar above the palace heights,
Of earth and seek the sky-
Is but to dawn enchanted wings,
and float and lull and fly.

To fly above the earth in sleep,
And make to worlds anew,
To sail a ship of airways’ guest.
..Makes the troubles few.

When in the eve of night I sit,
In soaring plane of air,
And drift along a silent stream,
To dream without a care.

5. OBSERVATION

I think that I shall never fight,
A kite a-flying in the night.
For what flies ‘ore, I do not see:
Doesn’t, doesn’t bother me!
